Audit services
Based on our experience and expertise, we can provide professional audit services in different domains
-
LAN infrastructure audit
With this audit we create a clear and professional report on how the actual network is built and where the bottlenecks are located. An important component, included in this audit, is a detailed graphical overview of the actual situation with all devices, IP addresses, VLANs, users, systems...
In addition to this actual situation and the customer requirements, we create a future design overview where we advise for future investments. -
Security audit
Almost everyone has a firewall, almost no firewalls are tested against security threats. Our engineers are trained to test incoming and outgoing data patterns to see what is blocked and which traffic is allowed by the firewall. Based on the results, we will provide a detailed report where we advise the customer the different actions to have an 100% secured network. Techniques we use are a comprehensive set of software tools and an IDP (intrusion detection and prevention) appliance that will capture, collect and analyze all data.

WAN audit
Leased lines and other WAN connections towards internet or between companies are still very expensive. WAN links are often saturated due to the fact that there is no visibility on what the users are doing on the internet. Saturated links, caused by unprofessional users who are downloading all sorts of media, are blocking business critical applications. The Data Unit WAN audit gives a detailed and 100% correct overview on what applications are running over the WAN connection, who is using this application, when is the application used and towards what website. In fact we can give a second-by-second detailed graphical overview for several weeks for every bit or byte that has passed the internet connection. The appliance we use can also be put into shaping mode to provide QoS to the business critical applications and to block or restrict unwanted traffic.

WLAN site survey audit
Wi-Fi networks are more than ever secure solutions and with the official "N-radio" standard a desired or "must have" solution at many organizations. But often forgotten is the importance of adaptive radio management and calculation of the number of needed access points. The only way to calculate the exact number of AP's and the necessary different types of external antennas is an onsite survey. Data Unit engineers are using "heating-map" applications together with onsite active AP's that will result in a proven design overview where the AP's are at the correct location in the floor plan or building plans.
